The Foundation coaching course is suitable for those who would like to begin coaching tennis, or who are currently coaching, under the direct supervision of a qualified tennis coach. Course participants will have the opportunity to experience ANZ Tennis Hot Shots activities for Blue and Red stage players on court using modified balls, racquets, nets and courts appropriate to the developmental needs of these players.
The Tennis Australia Foundation Coaching Course offers the opportunity to experience ANZ Tennis Hot Shots activities and contemporary coaching methodology. The Tennis Australia Community Coaching Course is designed to train coaches to develop the skills of junior tennis players. The Junior Development qualification focuses on planning, delivering and reflecting on coaching sessions and creating positive learning environments for children.

Tennis Australia is the governing body of tennis within Australia, linking to member associations throughout the country. We promote and facilitate participation in tennis at all levels, and also conduct national and international tournaments such as the Australian Open Grand Slam™.
About the course. The course contains four modules, covering a range of general coaching topics including; the role and responsibilities expected of a coach, planning, safety, working with parents, communication, group management and inclusive coaching practices. It takes approximately four hours to complete, and there is assessment included at the end of each module.
